Larger than life, the great Cantor of Leipzig’s exhilaratingly modern music still inspires composers today – 270 years after his death. As a pillar of classical music, Bach and his music defined the 18th Century, and influences creators to this day. Along with some of Bach’s most breathtaking works (Komm, Jesu, Komm), this concert showcases the hold he had on composers from the 19th to the 21st Century, from Mendelssohn to Evangelista.
