Pianist and composer Kate Wyatt is one of Montréal’s finest jazz musicians, and her debut album Artifact is an excellent glimpse into the many layers of her musicianship. The album consists of a masterful and thoughtful series of original Wyatt compositions, as well as a brilliant standard by Billy Strayhorn. The musicians of the album are all talented in their own right, but the dynamic of the group reflects a deep bond between the players.
