Having established himself among the elite of his generation, David Jalbert was named by CBC in their best all-time Canadian pianists list. “Playing that oozes hedonistic charm” (Gramophone); “a virtuoso in the best sense of the word” (La Presse); “wide-ranging musical imagination…and an unerring lightness of being” (Toronto Star). He has appeared as soloist in Europe, Mexico, South Africa, and with almost every Canadian symphony orchestra, under the batons of Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Bramwell Tovey, and Tania Miller. He is a Virginia Parker Prize laureate.
David has recorded two volumes of Prokofiev’s piano works to great acclaim. He will perform Sonatas Opp. 29 (C minor), 14 (D minor), 82 (A Major) plus 10 Pieces for Piano, Op. 12.
