Where movement meets meaning.
Strathmore High School’s collaborative collection is not just about dance steps; it’s a celebration of voices, stories, and connection—set to the evocative sounds of Peter Gabriel’s music. Weeks of sweat, teamwork and choreography come alive in a vibrant, high-energy night of solo and group performances. From hip-hop beats to contemporary flow, students come together to express, heal and imagine a future rooted in respect and reconciliation.
This is collaboration in motion showcasing creativity and courage, blending cultures and breaking barriers. The heartbreaking, inspiring story of Siksika First Nation Chief Vincent Yellow Old Woman and his experience as a child in residential school, how he reclaimed his way of life and became Chief of his people.
Fresh moves. Big passion. Pure talent.
Be part of a movement toward understanding, unity and reconciliation.
Featuring original poetry including “The Indian in the Child”, music by Peter Gabriel and Indigenous singers including contemporary and traditional dance. The story of how generations of students have come to experience this work is also available in the CBC documentary: New Blood.
