The chaconne, a dance very popular for several centuries, fascinates by the simplicity of its composition: a bass motif continuously repeated throughout the work, in an almost hypnotizing way, on which one or more voices come to rest and can thus flourish. , discourse or be improvised. In Italy, the chaconne will be marked with the seal of the extreme virtuosity of these superior voices.
