Ellen Arkbro (b. 1990) is a composer, musician and sound artist working with precisely tuned intervallic harmony. Her practice includes compositions for acoustic instruments, synthetic sound, and hybrid forms, as well as installation work.
Across her work, she focuses on the qualities of harmonic sound that frame listening as an active process of creative participation, inviting the listener to gradually merge with the sound itself.
NO HAY BANDA performs Alvin Lucier’s Swing Bridge, a stunning 35-minute work for pipe organ, ensemble, and ‘pipe wavers’, who microtonally shift the tuning of the organ pipes.
