La salle de 875 places du Centre Pierre-P\u00e9ladeau de l\u2019UQAM a \u00e9t\u00e9 inaugur\u00e9e en 1992 avec l\u2019orchestre I Musici de Montr\u00e9al, l\u2019un des principaux locataires. Malheureusement, l\u2019orchestre de chambre sous la gouverne de son fondateur Yuli Turovsky n\u2019y a pas fait long feu en raison du peu d\u2019envie des abonn\u00e9s, issus de quartiers r\u00e9sidentiels de classe moyenne, de faire le trajet jusqu\u2019au Quartier latin. Aujourd\u2019hui, I Musici est de retour au centre-ville avec son nouveau premier chef invit\u00e9 Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Rivest. Son concert inaugural \u00e9tait le 4 novembre, cinq jours avant le d\u00e9but de la saison de son concurrent naturel, l\u2019Orchestre classique de Montr\u00e9al, qui a aussi d\u00e9cid\u00e9 d\u2019essayer la salle. Leurs publics r\u00e9pondront-ils \u00e0 l\u2019appel\u00a0? La rue Saint-Denis n\u2019est plus en construction.
