Son album \u2013 <i>J.S. Bach : les Sonates et Partitas pour violon seul<\/i>, qui va sortir en ao\u00fbt chez Leaf Music \u2013 a \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9 sur six violons diff\u00e9rents, chacun fabriqu\u00e9 par un luthier canadien de renom. \u00ab Je me suis dit : pour rendre hommage \u00e0 ces grands facteurs d\u2019instruments, quoi de mieux que de relever le d\u00e9fi d\u2019enregistrer l\u2019\u0153uvre la plus exigeante du r\u00e9pertoire pour commencer, \u00e0 savoir les pi\u00e8ces de Bach pour violon solo \u00bb, d\u00e9clare-t-il.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap has-medium-font-size\"><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le musicien a fond\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re sur sa passion pour la lutherie. Lorsque Fewer a cr\u00e9\u00e9 le Sweetwater Music Festival au d\u00e9but des ann\u00e9es 2000, il souhaitait mettre en lumi\u00e8re les artisans de la r\u00e9gion. Les luthiers pr\u00e9sent\u00e9s dans l\u2019album ont un lien avec le festival, ce qui am\u00e8ne des instrumentistes \u00e0 cordes de premier rang \u00e0 se rendre sur les \u00ab\u00a0rives de la baie Georgienne\u00a0\u00bb et, dans le cadre de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e9nement, \u00e0 les c\u00f4toyer.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Par l\u2019interm\u00e9diaire de ses connaissances, notamment John Newton et David Prentice, Fewer a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00ab\u00a0de plus en plus de luthiers, pas seulement dans cette partie de l\u2019Ontario, mais dans le [reste du]pays.\u00a0<br \/><\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ces luthiers \u2013 Mark Schnurr, Itzel \u00c1vila, Isabelle Wilbaux et Sibylle Ruppert \u2013 \u00ab\u00a0fabriquent tous des instruments qui font r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement le tour du monde\u00a0\u00bb. Fewer explique que ce groupe \u00ab\u00a0t\u00e9moigne de la richesse de la sc\u00e8ne canadienne\u00a0\u00bb, m\u00eame si celle-ci est moins connue \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle internationale.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">En tant que membre de la Smithsonian Chamber Music Society, Fewer joue aussi sur des Stradivarius, Guarneri et Amati. Habitu\u00e9 \u00e0 ces instruments l\u00e9gendaires, il explique qu\u2019il \u00ab\u00a0ne souffre pas du tout\u00a0\u00bb lorsqu\u2019il joue sur des violons de luthiers canadiens. D\u2019apr\u00e8s lui, ce que ces instruments ont en commun, c\u2019est une qualit\u00e9 infinie\u00a0: une capacit\u00e9 illimit\u00e9e de produire des sonorit\u00e9s, des couleurs et des textures qui se r\u00e9v\u00e8lent chaque fois qu\u2019il en tient un sous son menton.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Soulignant la multitude d\u2019avanc\u00e9es technologiques dans le domaine de la<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lutherie au cours des vingt derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, Fewer pr\u00e9cise que les mod\u00e8les des grands violons de l\u2019histoire sont facilement accessibles en ligne. Ce qui distingue toutefois un simple artisan de ce qu\u2019il appelle un \u00ab\u00a0chuchoteur du bois\u00a0\u00bb, c\u2019est la capacit\u00e9 de \u00ab\u00a0partir d\u2019un mod\u00e8le, puis \u00e0 suivre ce qui est inh\u00e9rent au bois pour finaliser une conception\u00a0\u00bb.
