Dans ce volume, les auditeurs d\u00e9couvrent une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 de pi\u00e8ces sacr\u00e9es et profanes \u00e9crites par des compositeurs de toute l\u2019Europe. Comme l\u2019explique le livret, le d\u00e9but de la p\u00e9riode baroque se d\u00e9finit par \u00ab\u00a0une souplesse et une expressivit\u00e9 toujours plus grandes\u00a0\u00bb. Les pi\u00e8ces de Gesualdo, Monteverdi, Fernandes, Hassler, Shutz et Purcell sont embl\u00e9matiques de cette p\u00e9riode, o\u00f9 l\u2019on s\u2019attachait de plus en plus \u00e0 rendre le sens du texte par l\u2019entremise du geste m\u00e9lodique et harmonique.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019interpr\u00e9tation de <a href=\"https:\/\/aap5.myscena.org\/newswire\/upcoming-release-of-art-choral-vol-6-moderne\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">l\u2019Ensemble ArtChoral<\/a> est assur\u00e9e sans jamais \u00eatre lourde. Il s\u2019agit clairement d\u2019un groupe passionn\u00e9 par la musique ancienne; les voix ont un timbre pur, sans le vibrato qui, au fil des si\u00e8cles, est devenu la norme en mati\u00e8re d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation vocale. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.matthiasmaute.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matthias Maute<\/a> ma\u00eetrise cet ensemble de main de ma\u00eetre et l\u2019on a le sentiment que le chef et les musiciens sont unis dans la poursuite d\u2019un monde sonore c\u00e9leste.<\/p>\n<p>Comme les voix, l\u2019acoustique de cet album a une qualit\u00e9 d\u2019empyr\u00e9e. Sans co\u00efncidence, la musique, tr\u00e8s expansive et r\u00e9sonnante, a \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9e dans une \u00e9glise. La grandeur du lieu est tr\u00e8s bien transmise par le son de l\u2019enregistrement et l\u2019acoustique amplifi\u00e9e de l\u2019\u00e9glise donne l\u2019impression qu\u2019il y a plus de chanteurs qu\u2019il n\u2019y en a en r\u00e9alit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>J\u2019ai \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 frapp\u00e9 par la qualit\u00e9 d\u2019intonation hors de ce monde de ces interpr\u00e9tations et j\u2019aurais aim\u00e9 savoir si le groupe utilise l\u2019intonation juste. Une explication dans le livret d\u2019accompagnement sur l\u2019accordage de l\u2019\u00e9poque ainsi que sur d\u2019autres pratiques d\u2019interpr\u00e9tation aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 la bienvenue. Compte tenu de l\u2019orientation musicologique de l\u2019album, il aurait \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 b\u00e9n\u00e9fique que les paroles et les traductions soient imprim\u00e9es dans le livret.
