Photo : Tam Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Le choix de pr\u00e9senter les <i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">hits <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">du classique, au sens o\u00f9 tous en ont au moins une fois entendu parler, contribue \u00e0 l\u2019attrait incontestable de ces concerts. Ainsi, on voit d\u00e9barquer \u00e0 la Maison symphonique une quantit\u00e9 d\u2019auditeurs curieux qui souhaitent vivre ou revivre l\u2019\u00e9motion, l\u2019exaltation que procurent les chefs d\u2019\u0153uvres.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Quand on interpr\u00e8te la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Symphonie n<\/span><\/i><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">o<\/span><\/i><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> 5 en do mineur <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">de Beethoven et le non moins c\u00e9l\u00e8bre <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Requiem en r\u00e9 mineur <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">de Mozart dans ce temple de la musique classique \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, il s\u2019agit bien s\u00fbr d\u2019offrir le meilleur. Le 15 novembre, lors de la premi\u00e8re soir\u00e9e de concert, Francis Choini\u00e8re est certainement parvenu \u00e0 obtenir le meilleur des musiciens de l\u2019OPCM : un son raffin\u00e9, presque cart\u00e9sien, et une g\u00e9n\u00e9rosit\u00e9 qui faisait plaisir \u00e0 entendre, notamment du c\u00f4t\u00e9 des cors, des trombones et des violoncelles. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Toutefois, cette interpr\u00e9tation n\u2019est valable que pour quelques \u00e9coles ou styles musicaux seulement, et non l\u2019ensemble du r\u00e9pertoire symphonique. Photo : Tam Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Or, la 5<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> est synonyme du Destin qui frappe \u00e0 la porte,\u00a0de sort tragique, de laideur aussi, et non pas de beaut\u00e9 na\u00efve. Le public a certes \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s sensible \u00e0 cette lecture l\u00e9ch\u00e9e,\u00a0mais il aurait \u00e9t\u00e9 v\u00e9ritablement conquis par un chef qui aille puiser dans la fureur, la rage de vivre du compositeur.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Le motif \u00e0 quatre notes que tout le monde conna\u00eet n\u2019a pas produit de grands effets dramatiques. Photo : Tam Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Quoi qu\u2019il en soit, un d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre entre les diff\u00e9rentes sections de l\u2019orchestre a pu \u00eatre observ\u00e9. On s\u2019\u00e9tonne, en particulier, que Francis Choini\u00e8re n\u2019ait pas temp\u00e9r\u00e9 l\u2019ardeur des trombones, nettement plus sonores que le reste. Dans le dernier mouvement de l\u2019\u0153uvre, la section a compl\u00e8tement enterr\u00e9 les basses du ch\u0153ur alors qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait cens\u00e9 seulememt les doubler. Ce d\u00e9s\u00e9quilibre a eu aussi des cons\u00e9quences n\u00e9fastes sur la couleur de certains accords (des tierces trop audibles, notamment).<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">L\u2019argent r\u00e9colt\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce aux 12 donateurs du programme M\u00e9c\u00e9nat Musica, d\u2019un montant d\u2019au moins 25 000 dollars par donateur, devrait permettre de rem\u00e9dier \u00e0\u00a0certains \u00e9cueils au niveau de l\u2019orchestre et du ch\u0153ur. Photo : Tam Photography<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Enfin, du c\u00f4t\u00e9 des solistes, on aurait aim\u00e9 davantage d\u2019engagement de la soprano Myriam Leblanc, non seulement dans l\u2019Introit, mais plus encore dans la Communion, au moment m\u00eame o\u00f9 l\u2019\u0153uvre donne la chance aux interpr\u00e8tes de reprendre <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">da capo <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">les deux premiers mouvements. Timbre sombre, mais agr\u00e9able de la mezzo-soprano Allyson McHardy et \u00e9l\u00e9gance vocale du t\u00e9nor Andrew Haji. Geoffroy Salvas a aussi bien fait, mais sa voix de baryton n\u2019\u00e9tait pas adapt\u00e9e \u00e0 la tessiture grave de la partition.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">L\u2019OPCM trouvera probablement toujours un public ravi d\u2019entendre les <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">hits <\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">du classique, comme celui qui va r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement aux concerts \u00e0 la chandelle, dans des \u00e9glises de quartier. Mais ce public m\u00e9rite aussi le meilleur en raison de la confiance qu\u2019il accorde \u00e0 l\u2019entreprise artistique de Sam Champagne et Francis Choini\u00e8re.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Prochain concert, le 9 mars 2025 \u00e0 la Maison symphonique.
