Pr\u00e9curseur aux <i>Images<\/i> de Debussy, le morceau est aussi une formidable d\u00e9monstration de la virtuosit\u00e9 de Chiu. La suite, \u00e9crite par Debussy pour quatre mains et arrang\u00e9e plus tard par Jacques Durand pour un seul pianiste, a \u00e9t\u00e9 modifi\u00e9e pour ressembler davantage \u00e0 la composition originale. Cela appara\u00eet \u00e9vident dans les m\u00e9lodies douces, mais savamment entrelac\u00e9es dans les 2e et 4e mouvements, <i>Cort\u00e8ge<\/i> et <i>Ballet<\/i>. Ces morceaux semblent \u00eatre ex\u00e9cut\u00e9s sans effort.<\/p>\n<p><i>Reflets dans l\u2019eau<\/i> laisse ensuite une impression durable avec d\u2019exquis arp\u00e8ges en forme de vagues qui contrastent magnifiquement avec les moments de drame tonitruant. Il s\u2019appuie sur le th\u00e8me de l\u2019eau d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9labor\u00e9 dans la pi\u00e8ce <i>En bateau<\/i> et qui fait de Chiu un instrumentiste incroyablement fluide.<\/p>\n<p>Son incroyable flexibilit\u00e9 se retrouve dans <i>Hong Kong Nostalgia<\/i> d\u2019Alice Ping Yee Ho, une \u0153uvre plus atmosph\u00e9rique \u00e0 l\u2019esprit intense et parfois onirique. Les mouvements s\u2019inspirent de l\u2019impact \u00e9motionnel qu\u2019exercent les joyaux nationaux sur nous, tels que la magnificence du monast\u00e8re des Dix mille bouddhas ou la vie nocturne anim\u00e9e des bazars. Chiu exprime ces id\u00e9es avec aisance.
