Son dernier projet, <i>Fl\u00fbte passion\u00a0: Claude Bolling \u2013 Suite pour fl\u00fbte et trio piano jazz<\/i>, c\u00e9l\u00e8bre l\u2019\u0153uvre du compositeur fran\u00e7ais, d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 en 2020 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de 90 ans. Labrie affirme que la musique de Bolling a enrichi son art. Elle lui rendra hommage dans un concert \u00e0 la Place des Arts le 2 mai.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Labrie s\u2019est produite en tant que soliste avec divers orchestres, notamment l\u2019Orchestre symphonique de Qu\u00e9bec et l\u2019Orchestre symphonique de l\u2019Estuaire. Sa s\u00e9rie classique <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fl\u00fbte passion<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (2018-2021) a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9e \u00e0 la suite d\u2019une s\u00e9rie de circonstances difficiles \u2013 le dernier album a \u00e9t\u00e9 termin\u00e9 pendant la pand\u00e9mie de coronavirus. \u00ab\u00a0J\u2019avais besoin d\u2019une lumi\u00e8re dans ma vie\u00a0\u00bb, se souvient-elle. Il suffit d\u2019entendre le nom \u00ab\u00a0Mozart\u00a0\u00bb pour sourire. Le projet Bolling est cependant diff\u00e9rent. \u00ab\u00a0Je pense que je voulais simplement explorer quelque chose de nouveau.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Elle a d\u00e9couvert l\u2019\u0153uvre de Bolling par l\u2019interm\u00e9diaire de l\u2019oncle de son mari, fan de son c\u00e9l\u00e8bre <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Baroque And Blue<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. La pi\u00e8ce est le premier des sept mouvements de la <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, une composition de Bolling de 1973 qui fusionne le classique et le jazz et qui est \u00e9crite pour piano, batterie, contrebasse et fl\u00fbte. Le fl\u00fbtiste fran\u00e7ais Jean-Pierre Rampal a enregistr\u00e9 l\u2019\u0153uvre en 1975 (ce qui lui a valu une nomination aux Grammy) et la suite de Bolling <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio No. 2<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> en 1986.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pour Labrie, les enregistrements de Rampal ont \u00e9t\u00e9 un tremplin. \u00ab\u00a0Lorsque j\u2019\u00e9coutais, je me disais\u00a0: \u201cOh, mon Dieu, il est tellement bon\u00a0!\u201d C\u2019est un phras\u00e9 absolument parfait, avec beaucoup de caract\u00e8re et de sentiment. Mais \u00e0 un moment donn\u00e9, j\u2019ai commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 entendre comment moi, je voulais jouer cette musique.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Le processus d\u2019apprentissage de l\u2019\u0153uvre de Bolling a fortement contrast\u00e9 avec la formation classique de Labrie. \u00ab\u00a0J\u2019ai jou\u00e9 le r\u00e9pertoire classique toute ma vie, il \u00e9tait donc d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans mes doigts, mais avec Bolling, c\u2019\u00e9tait comme si je me demandais ce que je pouvais en faire. Je voulais qu\u2019il ait ma propre sensibilit\u00e9.\u00a0\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Son approche individualiste a \u00e9t\u00e9 renforc\u00e9e par les musiciens qui ont particip\u00e9 au projet \u2013 Jonathan Turgeon au piano, Dominic Girard \u00e0 la contrebasse et Bernard Riche \u00e0 la batterie \u2013 qui ont interpr\u00e9t\u00e9 la musique de Bolling avec Labrie lors d\u2019une s\u00e9rie de concerts l\u2019an dernier.
