On y retrouve une \u0153uvre de la compositrice canado-am\u00e9ricaine Luna Pearl Woolf, sp\u00e9cialement \u00e9crite pour l\u2019ensemble, et des arrangements pour 9 instrumentistes \u00e0 cordes de Thibault Bertin-Maghit d\u2019apr\u00e8s plusieurs pi\u00e8ces de Debussy, dont <i>La Mer<\/i>. C\u2019est d\u2019ailleurs de cette \u0153uvre, compos\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019origine pour grand orchestre, que tout a commenc\u00e9, confient la violoncelliste Andrea Stewart et l\u2019arrangeur lui-m\u00eame, \u00e9galement contrebassiste du groupe. \u00ab\u00a0Dans un style musical o\u00f9 le timbre et la couleur sont primordiaux, l\u2019ex\u00e9cution de cette \u0153uvre embl\u00e9matique en ayant recours \u00e0 une seule famille d\u2019instruments paraissait outrageuse, mais en y pensant bien, nous aimons les d\u00e9fis. Il s\u2019agit sans aucun doute d\u2019une r\u00e9interpr\u00e9tation.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le d\u00e9fi est relev\u00e9 haut la main. Avec leur ensemble suffisamment fourni, les musiciens de Collectif9 parviennent \u00e0 recr\u00e9er le souffle n\u00e9cessaire et les mouvements changeants des ondes aquatiques, honorant ainsi comme il se doit <i>La Mer <\/i>de Debussy.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9galement sur le th\u00e8me aquatique, <i>Contact<\/i> de Luna Pearl Woolf raconte une histoire sous-marine originale entre une baleine et son petit. Les notes discographiques sont ici essentielles pour comprendre la d\u00e9marche artistique et mieux appr\u00e9cier cette musique qui, autrement, para\u00eet assez difficile d\u2019approche.<\/p>\n<p>Les arrangements des premi\u00e8res pi\u00e8ces de l\u2019album nous enveloppent d\u2019une douceur accueillante. Le nombre de 9 musiciens, plus grand qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019accoutum\u00e9e pour ce r\u00e9pertoire plus intime, ne se fait absolument pas sentir. On le doit non seulement \u00e0 la parfaite ma\u00eetrise des nuances, mais aussi \u00e0 l\u2019excellente captation sonore qui fait entendre les moindres vibrations de chaque instrument. L\u2019arrangement du <i>Clair de lune <\/i>de Debussy interpelle par le choix de glissades volontaires. Thibault Bertin-Maghit a peut-\u00eatre cherch\u00e9 un certain effet ber\u00e7ant, mais \u00e0 notre oreille, celui-ci trahit un peu trop l\u2019esprit de la pi\u00e8ce bergamasque.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Spotify Embed: La mer, CD 111: II.
