David Greenberg, arrangeur, compositeur et violoniste, continue de mettre en valeur ses talents \u00e9clectiques dans son dernier projet, <i>Multiple Voices for One<\/i>, sorte de \u00ab\u00a0Variations Greenberg\u00a0\u00bb dans le style de Bach. La tapisserie est parsem\u00e9e de motifs folkloriques et culturels qui rappellent les violons du Cap-Breton, les gigues \u00e9cossaises et la musique klezmer. Les contours dansants d\u00e9montrent la profondeur de l\u2019\u00e9tude de la musique ancienne \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Indiana et du jeu avec le c\u00e9l\u00e8bre ensemble Tafelmusik.<\/p>\n<p>Enregistr\u00e9 au Bauman Auditorium de Newberg, dans l\u2019Oregon, chaque \u00ab\u00a0mixage\u00a0\u00bb d\u00e9gage myst\u00e9rieusement un ou plusieurs brins de violon. Il y a juste ce qu\u2019il faut de piquant \u2013 une m\u00e9lancolie relev\u00e9e avec des mouvements dansants et des syncopes aux ar\u00eates vives. Rappelant \u00e9nergiquement les suites de Bach (allemande, courante, sarabande, passacaille), les variations de Greenberg, qu\u2019elles soient jazz\u00e9es, gigues ou danses carr\u00e9es, \u00e9voque le meilleur de Bach.<\/p>\n<p><i>McG &amp; G<\/i> capture l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re d\u2019une danse \u00e9cossaise, avec des embellissements qui sugg\u00e8rent l\u2019utilisation de plusieurs instruments. La <i>Partita n\u00b0 1<\/i> de Bach inspire <i>Sleepy Maggie\u2019s Messenger<\/i>, co\u00e9crite avec son fils Owen Greenberg, <i>Caledonia Corrente<\/i> et <i>Savage Sarabande<\/i>, cette derni\u00e8re \u00e9tant caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par le son profond du violoncelle et de la basse. <i>Gloomy and Enthralled<\/i>, tir\u00e9 de la <i>Sonate n\u00b0 2<\/i> de Bach, nous fait entendre le son guttural du violon \u00ab\u00a0octave\u00a0\u00bb (\u00e9galement utilis\u00e9 avec efficacit\u00e9 dans <i>Savage Sarabande<\/i>), tandis que <i>Susan\u2019s Klezmer Corrente<\/i> (<i>Partita n\u00b0 2<\/i> de Bach) est impr\u00e9gn\u00e9 de style klezmer.
